KNOW THIS.
It’s Warm!
Happy tentatively put away your heaviest jacket but keep your second heaviest jacket on hand week! Looking for routes to wander while you distrustfully enjoy the sunshine? The Rose Kennedy Greenway, the former footprint of I-93 reborn as a public park, is gearing up for warmer weather with a Trillium pop up Friday to Sunday 12 - 7 p.m. on behalf of Sweet St. Paddy. The Greenway also announced the official opening days for the Trillium Garden (April 21), City Winery on the Greenway (May 4), and Boston Calling Block Parties (June 9). Hot tip for future post-beer garden walks: if you find yourself strolling the Greenway after sunset, set the vibe by changing the lights of the Ring Fountain. Text a color of your choice to 617-208-4455 and watch the blades change to match your command right before your eyes.
The Return of St. Paddy (Parades)
It’s a big week for Greater Boston. Monday marked Pi Day, setting MIT-bound forums abuzz with the release of regular decision acceptances. Then the Ides of March got all the classics nerds going, too. Today is a day of rest but don’t get too comfortable. Tomorrow the Irish and Irish adjacent will begin to celebrate Saint Patrick and all his fellow countrymen. Expect the festivities to continue all the way through Sunday Services. After being postponed for two years, the parades are on and the lads and lassies are letting loose. If you’re skipping bar crawls in favor of the Rose Kennedy Greenway plug above, you’ve already completed the first leg of Boston’s Irish Heritage Trail. Take a day to snake through the city and hear about the history behind names like Fenway, Copley, Walsh, and more.
Sidenote: Anna’s Taqueria’s cursed/blessed Corned Beef and Cabbage Burrito is back for the Saint’s feast and his feast only. Preorder here.
