Try This: Riding the Green Line to Somerville
Babe, wake up. New GLX station just dropped. Service to and from Union Square officially began at 4:50 AM this morning and as the E trains rumbled out, a tweet about how to validate your fare at this special station was twote. The funky little system is temporary while the MBTA’s Fare Transformation plan waits on the arrival of new validation machines. The changes are aiming to speed up service with features like all door boarding and tap payments but other popular features, like passbacks, will be lost. Want to hear more on how payments are changing? The MBTA will have a public hearing on Fare Media Changes this Tuesday at 6 p.m. to collect public feedback on the policy changes.
